Photo of Captain Paul CareyCaptain Paul Carey began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the Tarpon Springs Police Department in 1997, and joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2003. He currently serves as the Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division that encompasses the Property Crimes Section, and the Crimes Against Persons Section. The Property Crimes Section includes the following: Tactical Surveillance Unit, Burglary & Pawn Unit, Arson and Auto Theft Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit, and the Economic Crimes Unit. The Crimes Against Persons Section includes the following: Robbery and Homicide Unit, Digital Forensics Unit, Sexual Predator Offender Tracking Unit (S.P.O.T.), Crimes Against Children Unit, and Victim Advocates.
