PINELLAS COUNTY- Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested a Clearwater man for possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.

On February 15, 2022, detectives began an investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that child pornography was being uploaded via the internet.  Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 44-year-old Osamah Khalil.

On May 17, 2023, detectives arrested Khalil and charged him with 2 counts of possession of child pornography and 2 counts of transmission of child pornography. When Khalil was interviewed by detectives, he admitted to receiving and transmitting child pornography. Khalil also admitted to recognizing one of the reported files. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
