PINELLAS COUNTY - On April 20, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to Seminole Boulevard and Park Boulevard in Seminole to investigate a vehicle versus bicyclist crash.

According to investigators, 67-year-old Linda Garrison was traveling northbound on Seminole Boulevard, crossing Park Boulevard, on her electric bicycle in the area of the bicycle lane. A 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 83-year-old John Lizak, was traveling west bound on Park Boulevard in the median lane. Investigators say Lizak had a green light to proceed west bound and as he entered the intersection, collided with Garrison, striking her on her right side.

Garrison was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

According to investigators, speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this crash.

The investigation continues.
