What:
Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and deputies from the Community Policing Unit conducted an arrest round-up after a four month, street level narcotics operation in and around the Ridgecrest area of unincorporated Largo.

When:
The narcotics operation ran from April 2019 through July 2019.

The arrest round-up occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Where:
The operation targeted the area in and around the Ridgecrest area located in unincorporated Largo.

Why/How:
From April of 2019 through July 2019, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a four month, street level narcotics operation. The purpose of the operation was to specifically target narcotics sales in and around the Ridgecrest area of unincorporated Largo.

Detectives say the operation was initiated after receiving information relayed from the Patrol Operations Bureau, narcotic tip information, and information detectives obtained regarding narcotics activity in the area.

As a result of this operation, a total of 32 suspects were identified and 58 criminal charges were established. The charges include narcotics sales and possession of Cocaine, Alprazolam, Fentanyl, and Hydromorphone.

Seventeen of the 32 suspects were arrested as of 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Fifteen suspects still have pending criminal charges.
