Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

When:
The suspect was arrested at about 8:44 a.m. on August 8, 2019.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his residence, located at 621 Pinewood Drive in Dunedin. 

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for Possession of Child Pornography.

According to detectives, their investigation began in November 2018, after receiving tips from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Joshua Williams. Detectives were able to recover numerous images depicting child pornography from Williams’ personal cell phone.

Williams admitted to viewing child pornography and storing the files on his cell phone.

Detectives arrested Williams and charged him with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Williams was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
