Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested the suspect responsible for attempting to rob a BB&T Bank located at 7600 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole.

When: 
The attempted robbery occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

The suspect was arrested at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017.

Where:
The attempted robbery occurred at the BB&T Bank located at 7600 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole.

The suspect was arrested at the Comfort Suites Hotel located at 4506 Oak Fair Boulevard in Tampa.

How/Why:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested the suspect responsible for attempting to rob a BB&T Bank in Seminole.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the BB&T Bank located at 7600 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

Once inside the bank, the suspect approached the bank teller, implied he had a gun and demanded cash.

Detectives say the suspect left the bank without receiving any money.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as 35-year-old, Jason P. Kendall.

Detectives were able to locate Kendall at the Comfort Suites Hotel located at 4506 Oak Fair Boulevard in Tampa.

Detectives interviewed Kendall and he admitted to the attempted bank robbery.

Kendall was arrested by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for three outstanding warrants from Pinellas County: one count Grand Theft, one count Petit Theft, and one count Issuing a Worthless Check.

Kendall was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail at the time of the arrest and will be transported to Pinellas County, where he will also be charged with one count of Attempted Robbery.

The investigation continues.
