Pinellas County Sheriff`s Office to host the first Discovery Day program for children residing in Pinellas County.
When: The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Where: The program will be held at the Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Why/How: The Pinellas County Sheriff`s Office to host the first Discovery Day program for children residing in Pinellas County.
The program will provide Pinellas County children the opportunity to take a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Participants will receive a welcome from Sheriff Bob Gualtieri before separating into groups and experiencing four “education stations.” These stations will include PCSO vehicle displays, a modified version of the Physical Abilities Test (P.A.T.) course to see if they have what it takes to be a deputy sheriff, a hands-on crime scene investigation experience and the opportunity to take on the Targeted Response Against Distracted Driving (T.R.A.D.D.) course.
There will be 52 children who reside in Pinellas County, ages 8 to 13 participating in this pre-registered event.
