What:
Deputies have released the results of the overnight countywide DUI Wolfpack.

When:
Pinellas County deputies along with various local law enforcement agencies conducted the county-wide DUI Wolfpack from Friday, May 5, 2017 through Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Where:
The DUI Wolfpack was conducted throughout Pinellas County.

Why/How:
In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries and deaths, Pinellas County Deputies in conjunction with the Clearwater Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, Gulfport Police Department, Kenneth City Police Department, Largo Police Department, St. Petersburg Police Department, and G4S Prisoner Transportation conducted a DUI Wolfpack operation in Pinellas County overnight.

The results are as follows:

Criminal Charges:

19 DUI

2 Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony)

4 Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)

1 Warrant Arrest (Felony)

7 Driving While License Suspended and /or revoked with Knowledge

1 Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility

1 Fleeing to Elude

1 Carrying a Concealed Firearm

1 Providing False Name to Law Enforcement Officer

4 Other Misdemeanor Arrest

Total Charges – 41
 

Citations:

17 Driving While License Suspended and/or revoked with Knowledge

5 No Insurance

37 Speeding

2 Safety Belt Violations

1 Violation of DL Restrictions

1 Open Container Violations

22 Other Non-Moving Violations

38 Other Moving Violations

Total Citations – 123

The operation was part of the Sheriff's Office on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of a Wolf Pack is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting DUI Wolf Packs continuously throughout the year.
