What:
Deputies investigate the near drowning of a 23-month-old girl in the pool of her Tierra Verde residence. Deputies say the incident appears to be accidental in nature.

When:
The near drowning occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Where:
The incident occurred at a private residence located at 436 3rd Avenue North in St. Petersburg.

Why/How:
According to deputies, 23-month-old Kaylee Siebenthal was playing near the pool at her residence. Her mother, 47-year-old Pamela Siebenthal, was near the pool supervising Kaylee when she looked away for a few seconds.

Deputies say that when Pamela turned back around to check on the child, she saw Kaylee in the pool not moving. Pamela jumped in the water and pulled Kaylee out of the pool. Kaylee was unconscious when Pamela called 911 and began chest compressions on the child.

Prior to the arrival of paramedics, Kaylee began vomiting and regained consciousness.

Kaylee was transported to All Children’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Deputies say that the incident appears to be accidental in nature.
