What:
Deputies are investigating a home invasion robbery in St. Petersburg, after two men robbed a victim at gunpoint in her apartment and fled from the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit that lead to the suspects crashing the vehicle into a tree and both suspects fleeing on foot. Deputies arrested one suspect and are still searching for the second suspect.

When:
The robbery occurred at about 8:29 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

Where:
The robbery occurred at a residence located at 6549 51st Avenue North, in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

The stolen vehicle was involved in a minor two vehicle crash at the intersection of 54th Avenue North and 49th Street North, in St. Petersburg.

The stolen vehicle crashed and was recovered near 5401 51st Terrace North in Kenneth City.

How/Why:
According to Deputies, the victim 28-year-old Terra Bertocci was in her apartment when two men knocked on her apartment door. Bertocci answered the door when one of the suspects threatened Bertocci with a handgun and demanded the keys to her car. Bertocci gave the men her car keys and both men fled the scene in her 2008 Lexus ES350.

While deputies were responding to the scene, they observed the victim’s Lexus near the intersection 49th Street North and 54th Avenue North.
