Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

***Investigative Update- as of June 28, 2016***

According to detectives, two additional victims have been identified in the armed robbery investigation where the suspects utilized a popular dating website to lure unsuspecting victims to local motels.

Detectives say that one victim was robbed at gunpoint at about 12:20 a.m. on June 16, 2016. The robbery occurred at the Bayview Motel located at 501 Bayview Boulevard, in Oldsmar.

The second victim was robbed at gunpoint at about 3:00 a.m. on June 18, 2016. The robbery occurred at the Knights Inn Hotel located at 20788 U.S. Highway 19, in Clearwater.

Similar to the previously reported cases, the victim’s communicated with the suspects on the “Plenty of Fish” dating website. The suspects utilized the user names “Jessica” and “Kala”, and arranged to meet the victims at the motels. When the victim’s arrived, Charlie Woodley and Cameron Davis robbed the victims at gunpoint taking cash and personal belongings from the victims.

Charlie Woodley and Cameron Davis were charged with two additional counts of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon or Firearm. They are both currently in the Pinellas County Jail awaiting trial.

Charges: Two counts of Robbery- deadly weapon or firearm.

Rachel C. Brown (Arrested)
DOB: 8/28/1996
Address: 1304 Pine Vista Drive, Largo
Charges: One count of principal to Robbery- deadly weapon or firearm.

What:

When:
The first incident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on June 19, 2016.

The second incident occurred at about 3:25 a.m. on June 24, 2016.

The suspects were arrested in the early morning hours of June 25, 2016.

Why/ How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested three suspects who used a popular dating website to lure unsuspecting victims to local motels. Once there, they robbed and battered the victims at gun point. Detectives believe there are more victims.

According to detectives, two unsuspecting victims reported using the website “Plenty of Fish”, a popular dating site to meet a female. The victims communicated with the suspects who identified themselves as “Jessica” or “Curvy_Cameron93”. The victims and the suspects continued communication through text messages and agreed to meet the users in a room at the Bayview Motel, located at 501 Bayview Boulevard in Oldsmar.

Detectives say that when the victims arrived at the prearranged meeting locations, they were battered and robbed at gun point by two male suspects. The suspects stole cash and various personal belongings from the victims and fled the scene.

The first robbery occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on June 19, 2016, and the second robbery occurred at about 3:25 a.m. on June 24, 2016.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspects as 21-year-old Charlie Woodley, 20-year-old Cameron Davis, and 19-year-old Rachel Brown.  

Detectives located Woodley, Davis, and Brown in the early morning hours on June 25, 2016. The suspects were interviewed by detectives at the Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo. 

Woodley, Davis, and Brown were arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Woodley and Davis were charged with two counts of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon or Firearm. Brown was charged with one count of Principal to Robbery with a Deadly Weapon or Firearm.

Detectives believe that there are additional victims that have not been identified.
