17 members from Patrol Operations, Detention and Corrections, Forensics, Crimes Against Children, Child Protection Services, Classification, Visitation, Fiscal, Legal and Safe Harbor will be graduating. 

What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing members who have completed Level II of the Spanish for Law Enforcement Program with a graduation ceremony.

This is the 7th year that the Sheriff’s Office has offered Spanish language courses to its members.

The course is tailored specifically to the needs of Law Enforcement and was established in an effort to better serve the growing Hispanic population of Pinellas County.

When:
The ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Where:
The ceremony will be held at the Sheriff’s Administration Building, Room 180B, located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing members who have successfully completed Spanish for Law Enforcement Level II (a two-year program).

The graduation of the group highlights the Sheriff’s Office continuing commitment to a program that has been tailored to the specific needs of Law Enforcement; and was designed in an effort to better serve the Spanish speaking community of Pinellas County.

The Sheriff’s Office plans to continue the program next fall with Spanish Level I, Spanish Level II and Spanish Level III maintenance courses offered.

The course originally began as a program that ran consecutively for 22 months and has evolved into a two-year program consisting of 10 months each.
