What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal vehicle vs. bicycle crash.

When:
The crash occurred at about 6:43 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015.

Where:
The crash occurred in front of 8667 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole.

Why/How:
According to investigators, 68-year-old Fujiko Shewell was riding her bicycle in an unknown direction on the sidewalk on the east side of Seminole Boulevard.

Deputies say 58-year-old Claude Ballew was pulling out of the Florida Mobile Home trailer park located on the 8600 block of Seminole Boulevard, preparing to turn right. Deputies say Ballew did not see Shewell on her bicycle and struck her.

Shewell was transported by ambulance to Largo Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. She was subsequently pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Neither alcohol nor speed appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
