What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications from citizens who would like to become members of the Sheriff’s Volunteer Patrol Unit. 

When:
Applications are now being accepted until November 30, 2015.

Where:
Sheriffs Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road, in Largo.

Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications from citizens who would like to become members of the Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol Unit. 

As members of the Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol, you will have a chance to work side by side with deputy sheriffs and perform a variety of valuable services for our citizens and visitors to Pinellas County.

Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol applicants must meet the following requirements:

* Must be a citizen of the United States.

* Be at least 25 years old.

* Possess a valid driver’s license.

* Successfully complete a program application.

* Pass a background investigation.

* Complete a training Academy.

* Should be available to volunteer at least 36 hours per quarter.

* Previous law enforcement experience is not a requirement.

The Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol activities include: directing traffic, issuing parking tickets, assisting disabled motorists, participating in community events and numerous other responsibilities.
