What:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/ Homicide Unit are investigating the suspected murder of a missing a Clearwater woman.

When:
The woman has been missing since December 14, 2013. 

Where:
The woman went missing after leaving her home located at 1700 Owen Drive in Clearwater. 

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/ Homicide Unit are investigating the disappearance of a Clearwater woman identified as 43-year-old Roberta Rene Cable. Rene has been missing since December 14, 2013 and detectives now believe that she is deceased. 

Rene originally went missing after leaving her home in Clearwater and has not had contact with friends or family since December 14, 2013. 

Rene and her roommate 63-year-old Jerry Gaston resided together at 1700 Owen Drive at the time of her disappearance. Over the course of this investigation, Jerry Gaston has made several inconsistent statements to detectives and now has become a person of interest in this case.   

Detectives executed a search warrant at Gaston’s residence on July 28, 2015 where they recovered evidence related to this case however Rene’s whereabouts is still unknown.

Detectives believe that Gaston may have driven his white Ford F150 truck to an undisclosed off road location between the dates of December 14th 2013- December 15th 2013. Detectives believe it may be connected to the crime (A photograph of Jerry Gaston’s vehicle is attached to this news release).
