The victim is an 8-year-old female, who was known to the suspect. Per Fl Statute 119.071(2)(h)1, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.

What:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin woman for aggravated child abuse, after the child was found to have 1st and 2nd degree burns to her feet.  

When:
Detectives began their investigation on April 7, 2015. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

Where:
The crime occurred in a private residence in Dunedin.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin woman for aggravated child abuse. Detectives began their investigation on April 7, 2015 after the 8-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with 1st and 2nd degree burns to the top part of both feet.

According to detectives, the victim was in the care of the suspect at the time of the incident and the injuries were discovered when she returned home to her mother.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Christina Boles.  

Detectives met with Boles on June 3, 2015 and she admitted to throwing hot water on the victim out of anger, causing the 1st and 2nd degree burns.

Boles was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. 

The investigation continues.
