Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) have responded to investigate a vehicle vs. scooter crash.

When:
The crash occurred at approximately 10:13 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

Where:
The crash occurred on Alternate 19 and Orange Street in Dunedin.

Why/How:

Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a crash in Dunedin. The crash took place at the intersection of Alternate 19 and Orange Street at approximately 10:13 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

According to deputies, Susan Stone was driving a scooter south bound on Alternate 19. Taylor Roppolo was driving a Jeep Cherokee north bound Alternate 19. The Jeep attempted to make a left hand turn onto Orange Street and turned in front of the scooter.  

Stone was ejected from the scooter and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Roppolo was not injured in the crash.

Alcohol, drugs and/or reckless driving do not appear to be factors of the crash.

The investigation continues.
