What:
Pinellas detectives have charged a Middleburg man with two counts of Capital Sexual Battery.

When:
The crimes occurred between December 2017 and February 2018.

The warrant was served at approximately 10:58 a.m. on July 26, 2018 at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections, where Brown is currently in custody on a separate charge of Lewd/Lascivious Molestation with Victim Under 12.

Where:
The crimes occurred at a private residence in Largo.

Why/How:
Pinellas detectives have charged a Middleburg man with two counts of Capital Sexual Battery.

Detectives began their investigation on July 6, 2018, after the victims admitted Brown had engaged in inappropriate activity with them. The female victims were between the ages of five and eight years-old at the time of the incidents.

According to detectives, Brown engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with the victims at a private residence located in Largo. The inappropriate activity occurred between December 2017 and February 2018.

Detectives advised Brown has been a registered sexual offender since 2005.

On July 21, 2018, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested Brown for one count of Lewd/Lascivious Molestation with Victim Under 12, that occurred in their jurisdiction.

On July 24, 2018, detectives interviewed Brown at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections located at 500 East Adams Street in Jacksonville, where Brown admitted to the allegations.

Pinellas detectives presented the case to the Pinellas/Pasco State Attorney’s Office and a warrant was issued for two counts of Capital Sexual Battery (Familial Authority).

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office served the warrant for Brown at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections on July 26, 2018 at approximately 10:58 a.m. and he will later be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail for his charges.

The investigation continues.
