Why/How:
At about 10:55 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, deputies were called to a residence located at 5000 28th Street North, lot #23, in unincorporated St. Petersburg for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located the victim 20-year-old Erica Platt suffering from a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Platt to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for non-life-threatening injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, witnesses told deputies the incident started when 21-year-old Brandon Tartaglia started a physical altercation with 17-year-old Tyler Garcia and 20-year-old Tyson Garcia at lot #21, earlier in the evening. After the initial altercation, Tartaglia returned to lot #23.

Deputies say Tyler Garcia, Tyson Garcia, and an unidentified black male subject walked over to lot #23 where a second physical altercation took place outside the residence.
