What:                                           
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit are investigating the drowning of a 1-year-old boy who was found submerged in the family’s bathtub in unincorporated Clearwater. Detectives say the incident appears to be accidental in nature.

When:
The drowning occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Where:
The incident occurred at a private residence located at 364 69^th Street North, in unincorporated Clearwater.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit are investigating the drowning of a 1-year-old boy who was found submerged in the family’s, bathtub in unincorporated Clearwater.

According to detectives, 1-year-old Liam Morris was in the bathtub as the bath was being prepared for him.  Minutes later he was found submerged under the water.   

Alan pulled Liam from the water and called 911. Madelynne performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until Largo Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene. Paramedics took over CPR.

Liam was transported by ambulance, to the Largo Medical Center, where he later died.

The investigation continues.
