Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a man after he stabbed his brother with a knife following an argument in Palm Harbor.

Where:
The incident occurred at a residence located at 1340 Homestead Way in Palm Harbor.

When:
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.

Why/How:
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a man after he stabbed his brother with a knife following an argument in Palm Harbor.

According to deputies, the suspect 22-year-old Ryan Anderson, and the victim, 26-year-old Richard Anderson, got into a verbal argument at the residence located at 1340 Homestead Way in Palm Harbor. After the initial argument was over, Richard Anderson fell asleep on the couch.

Deputies say that Ryan retrieved a kitchen knife and walked over to where Richard was sleeping on the couch and stabbed Richard in the left arm with the knife.

The step-father, 57-year-old Michael Carr, was in another room of the house when he heard the commotion and came running out to the living room. Carr witnessed Ryan attacking Richard with the knife, at which time he disarmed Ryan, and held him until deputies arrived.

Richard was transported to Florida Hospital North Pinellas for non-life threatening injuries.

Ryan admitted to deputies that he tried killing Richard by stabbing him in the chest.

Ryan was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Ryan was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery with Deadly Weapon/Great Bodily Harm.

The investigation continues.
