Detectives have arrested the girlfriend of homicide suspect Barry C. Sanders. Sanders was arrested on Tuesday, November 3, 2014 and charged with Murder in the First Degree after the victim, Craig Rush was found deceased behind a mobile home in St. Petersburg.

Throughout the investigation the girlfriend of the suspect, 32-year-old Laura C. Anderson withheld information or was not truthful with information she provided to detectives. Anderson was again questioned by detectives and admitted to being untruthful or withholding information. Anderson was arrested by detectives on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

Anderson has been charged with one count of False Reports To Law Enforcement Authority In A Capital Offense.

**Update: Tuesday, November 4, 2014***

Deputies have arrested the suspect Barry C. Sanders. Deputies responded to the scene located at 5480 42^nd Street North in unincorporated St. Petersburg in the late evening hours of Monday, November 3, 2014 after a witness observed the suspect near his residence. When deputies arrived at the residence, Sanders had fled the scene. The Sheriff’s K-9 unit responded and was able to track the suspect. Sanders was located by the K-9 unit a few blocks away from his residence.

Sanders was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

Sanders has been charged with one count of Murder in the First Degree.

What:
Robbery/Homicide detectives are investigating a homicide at the Oak High Mobile Home Park in unincorporated St. Petersburg. The body of a deceased male was found behind Lot # 6. Detectives are currently looking for the suspect.

Where:
Private residence, 5480 42^nd Street North, (Oak High Mobile Home Park), unincorporated St. Petersburg.

When:
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an armed person call at the mobile home park at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014.  

How/Why:  
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide unit are investigating a homicide in the Oak High Mobile Home Park located at 5480 42^nd Street North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

Deputies responded to an armed person call at approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning, November 3, 2014. Upon arrival, deputies located the body of a deceased male with upper body trauma behind Lot#6. The deceased male has been identified as 37-year-old Craig Rush. 

Through various investigative techniques and witness interviews, detectives have identified the suspect as 34-year-old Barry C. Sanders.

This does not appear to be a random act of violence and it appears the victim and Sanders had an altercation prior to deputies being contacted this morning.

A warrant has been issued for Sanders and detectives are in the process of locating him at this time.
