Alexander Gray Stroup (Arrested)
DOB: 6/1/1995
Address: 10210 66th Avenue North, Seminole
Charges: One Count Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and One Count Armed Burglary
 

Detectives have arrested a suspect in connection to a credit card theft that occurred in the overnight hours between September 30, 2014 and October 1, 2014. The suspect then used the victim’s credit card to make purchases at a Walmart Store and Hess Store.

Through various investigative techniques and tips, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Alexander Gray Stroup. Detectives located Stroup at a private residence in Seminole. Stroup met with detectives on Thursday, October 30, 2014 and Stroup admitted to the allegations.

Stroup was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Stroup has been charged with one count armed burglary and one count of Credit Card Fraud.

The investigation continues.

What:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who stole a victim’s credit card and used it to make purchases at two different businesses within Pinellas County. 

When: 
The theft occurred in the overnight hours between Tuesday, September 30, 2014 and Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The suspect used the victim’s credit card between the approximate hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

Where:
The suspect stole the victim’s credit card from the victim’s unlocked vehicle that was parked at a private residence in the area of Bay Lake Drive South and 59th Avenue North in unincorporated Seminole. 

The suspect used the victim’s credit card at a Walmart Store located at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg and a Hess store located at 10544 Park Blvd. in Seminole.

How/Why:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who stole a victim’s credit card and used it to make purchases at two different businesses within Pinellas County. 

According to detectives, in the overnight hours between Tuesday, September 30, 2014 and Wednesday, October 1, 2014 the suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and took a credit card belonging to the victim. The victim’s vehicle that was parked at a private residence in the area of Bay Lake Drive South and 59th Avenue North in unincorporated Seminole at the time of the theft.

The suspect was then observed using the victim’s credit card between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

The suspect used the victim’s credit card to make a purchase at a Walmart Store located at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg and then made another purchase with the victim’s card at a  Hess store located at 10544 Park Blvd. in Seminole.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, clean cut, brown hair with a chin strap type beard. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans and a black and white thick bracelet or watch on his left wrist.

The suspect was also observed riding a dark colored bicycle.
