PINELLAS COUNTY – On September 14, 2023, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Chief Deputy David Danzig graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

The 287^th academy was held at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and consisted of 199 men and women from law enforcement agencies from 21 different countries, four military organizations, and three federal civilian organizations.

The National Academy is known for its academic excellence and offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend and on average, have 21 years of law enforcement experience. As a graduate of the 287th Session FBI National Academy, Assistant Chief Deputy Danzig enters a select group made up of less than one percent of the country’s law enforcement officers.

The FBI National Academy is dedicated to the improvement of law enforcement standards and has long been a benchmark for professional continuing education. The overall goal of the academy is to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world.

A total of 54,565 graduates have completed the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.
