What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is participating in Operation Pill Drop, a Florida Sheriffs Association collaboration, to provide citizens safe, convenient, and responsible means of drug disposal.

When:
Week two of Operation Pill Drop will commence Monday, October 24, 2016 to Friday, October 28, 2016, from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In addition to the weekday locations, one event will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where:

Drop-off locations are the following: North – Walgreens – 33670 U.S. Highway 19 North, Palm Harbor and South – Walgreens – 10563 Park Boulevard, Seminole

For Saturday, October 29, 2016 – Walmart - 35404 U.S. Highway 19 North, Palm Harbor

How/Why:

The majority of prescription drug abusers report in surveys they got their drugs from friends' and families’ medicine cabinets, drawers, and bedside tables, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Throughout the next few weeks, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is participating in several prescription drug take-back events to provide citizens safe, convenient, and responsible means of drug disposal.

During Operation Pill Drop, a Florida Sheriffs Association collaboration ongoing through Saturday, November 12, 2016, the Sheriff's Office is setting up prescription drug drop-off stations at different locations each week in addition to those available year round.

Week two of Operation Pill Drop will commence Monday, October 24, 2016 to Friday, October 28, 2016, from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In addition to the weekday locations, one event will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
