The illegal prescribing and sales of prescription drugs, and drug abuse is a challenge that affects our entire community. By applying pressure through enforcement, and by providing resources for education and treatment, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is “Leading The Way For A Safer Pinellas.”

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has joined forces with community groups such as Pinellas Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education (NOPE)  to educate the public about the tragic consequences of drug abuse.

The Sheriff’s Office is vigilantly working to identify, investigate, and arrest drug dealers. If you have information about illegal drug activities, you can report it anonymously and possibly be eligible for a reward by calling Crime Stoppers of Pinellas at 1-800-873-TIPS. You may also report criminal activity by calling the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at 727-582-6200 or submitting an online tip complaint here:

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) sponsors a website where you can find drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs and facilities.

 

Eckerd Community Alternatives

Eckerd Community Alternatives community facilitators provide information to callers about available resources in Pinellas County including counseling, drug treatment, mental health housing, clothing, food, utility assistance, and 2-1-1.

 

Poison Help

The Florida Poison Information Center - Tampa is staffed by nurses, pharmacists, and physicians trained in toxicology. Based on years of toxicology experience and a computerized database over 500,000 substances, they provide advice within minutes for each question or emergency.

Operation PAR provides integrated addiction and mental health services for all ages. Its mission is to strengthen communities by caring for families and individuals impacted by substance abuse and mental illness, providing the skills and resources to battle the impact of those diseases.

NOPE Task Force

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office partnered with families that suffered the loss of a relative from the use of illicit and/or prescription drugs to establish a NOPE Pinellas Chapter. This partnership is to educate communities about the dangerous consequences of abusing illicit and prescription drugs.
