Charges: One count Capital Sexual Battery and One Count of Sexual Battery.

What:
Detectives have arrested a St Petersburg man for Capital Sexual Battery upon a 11 year-old female child and Sexual Battery on the victim’s 18 year old sister.

When:
The abuse began during the 2018 calendar year.  The last inappropriate sexual activity occurred on September 9, 2018 involving the 11 year-old victim. The second incident involving inappropriate sexual activity with the 18 year-old victim occurred on September 19, 2018.

The suspect was arrested on September 20, 2018 and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Where:
The crime occurred at a private residence in St Petersburg.

Why/How:
Detectives have arrested a St Petersburg man for Capital Sexual Battery upon a 11 year-old female child and Sexual Battery on the victim’s 18 year old sister.

According to detectives, the investigation began on September 20, 2018, after the 11-year old female victim informed an adult at her school of inappropriate sexual activity. Deputies responded to the school and notified the mother who was unaware of the reported incidents.  

According to detectives, the 11 year-old victim reported 33 year-old Andrae Prince who is known and in a position of custodial care, forced the 11 year-old victim to have inappropriate sexual activity with him. The 11 year-old victim indicated the last date a sex act occurred with Prince was on Sept. 9^th, 2018.  The abuse began during the 2018 calendar year. 

During the investigation, the 18 year-old victim disclosed to detectives she too was a victim. She reported to detectives on September 19, 2018, Prince forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.  

Through various interviews and investigative techniques, detectives were able to confirm both victim’s allegations of inappropriate sexual activity occurred on more than one occasion.

At about 1:30 p.m. on September 20, 2018, detectives interviewed Prince at the Sheriff’s Administration Building located at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Prince denied the allegations of inappropriate sexual activity on the 11 year-old victim. Prince admitted to having inappropriate sexual activity with the 18 year-old victim.

Prince was arrested and charged with one count of Capital Sexual Battery on the 11 year-old victim and one count of Sexual Battery on the 18 year-old victim. He was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

The investigation continues.
