Vaccines at the Jail

PINELLAS COUNTY - On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the Pinellas County Jail medical staff will begin to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to inmates.

The Department of Health has provided the Pinellas County Jail with Pfizer vaccinations to administer to inmates who opt to have the vaccine.

Inmates will be prioritized by age, vulnerability, chronic illness, and medical conditions. There will be a focus on inmates that will be incarcerated beyond 21 days, in order to receive the second dose.

Inmates that elect to have their initial dose while incarcerated but are released prior to receiving their second dose, will be provided a referral to the Department of Health.

The Pinellas County Jail will continue to administer vaccinations to inmates as they are received from the Department of Health.
