Where:
The body was found in a pond near the Terrace Park of Five Towns condominiums located at 6190 80^th Street North, in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

Why/How:
Pinellas deputies are conducting a death investigation after a body was found floating in a St. Petersburg pond.

At about 8:28 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019, deputies were called to a pond near the Terrace Park of Five Towns condominiums located at 6190 80^th Street North, in unincorporated St. Petersburg, for a body found floating in the water.

According to deputies, the body was found floating several yards from the shoreline.

Deputies assigned to the Marine Unit responded and retrieved the body from the water.

Deputies confirmed the body was that of 69-year-old Robert Mulvey of St. Petersburg. Mulvey was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputies say the circumstances surrounding Mulvey’s death do not appear suspicious in nature. 

The cause and manner of death will be determined pending the outcome of the Medical Examiner’s autopsy.

Next of kin has been notified.
