What: Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted Operation, “End of the Rodeway,” a street level narcotics investigation.
When: Operation “End of the Rodeway” ran from Monday, August 6, 2018 through Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
Where: The operation targeted the area in and around the Rodeway Inn located at 16405 U.S. Highway 19 North, in unincorporated Clearwater.
Why/How: From Monday, August 6, 2018 through Tuesday, January 29, 2019, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted Operation “End of the Rodeway.” The purpose of the operation was to specifically target narcotics sales in and around the Rodeway Inn located at 16405 U.S. Highway 19 North, in unincorporated Clearwater.
Detectives say the operation was initiated after receiving an abundance of calls for service at the hotel, information relayed from the Community Policing Unit, narcotic tip information, and information detectives obtained regarding narcotics activity at the hotel.
Through the investigation, detectives determined between January 1, 2018 and January 29, 2019, there were 641 calls for service at the hotel and 43 of those calls for service were documented as being potential overdoses. As a result of this operation, a total of 28 suspects were identified and 140 criminal charges were established. The charges include narcotics sales and possession of Cocaine, Alprazolam, Fentanyl, Heroin, Hydromorphone, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and THC oil. 19 of the 28 suspects were arrested as of Friday, February 15, 2019. They are listed below with their charges. Nine suspects still have pending charges.
