According to investigators, 35-year-old Alex Lyons was driving his 2015 Dodge Dart southbound on Gulf Boulevard, approaching the Double Tree Resort located at 17120 Gulf Boulevard on Redington Beach.

Deputies say a 61-year-old male from Great Britain was crossing Gulf Boulevard from west to east, not in a crosswalk, in front of the Double Tree Resort, when he was struck by Lyons’ vehicle.

Impairment and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
