Twenty-four members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorers (F.A.P.E.) training event and pistol competition in Tallahassee, Florida.

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, the explorers received training by participating in several scenarios to include traffic stops, how to handle suicidal subjects, and an officer down situation. The explorers also received a presentation on active shooter tactics and discussed the recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas Commission Report.

On Sunday, January 20, 2019, four of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office explorers participated in the pistol competition at the Talon gun range.  Over 30 explorers participated in the shooting competition and Post 900 Explorer Sergeant Justin Musick placed as the Top Shooter Overall for the competition.

We are very proud of the efforts of our members of Post 900 during this Delegate’s training.
