The victim is a 12 year-old girl who is known to the suspect. Per Florida Statute 119.071, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.

What:
Pinellas detectives have arrested a Safety Harbor man after he had inappropriate sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl.

When:
The crime occurred on Friday, April 13, 2018.

The suspect was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Where:
The crime occurred at a private residence in Pinellas County

Why/How:
Pinellas detectives have arrested a Safety Harbor man after he had inappropriate sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl.

According to detectives, the victim was in the care of the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Thomas Pham, when he engaged her in inappropriate sexual activity at a residence in Pinellas County.

Later that same evening, the victim flagged down a Tarpon Springs Police Officer and disclosed the details of the incident.  Pinellas detectives took over the investigation due to the fact that the incident occurred in the Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to determine that the incident did in fact take place.

Detectives interviewed Pham at the Sheriff's North District Station located at 737 Louden Avenue in Dunedin. Pham made several admissions to having inappropriate sexual contact with the victim.

Pham was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, and was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

Pham was charged with one count of Sexual Battery (Familial Authority).

The investigation continues.
