Detectives assigned to the Arson and Auto Theft Unit are conducting an investigation into a manufacturing facility fire in Oldsmar.

When:
Deputies responded to a security alarm at about 8:10 p.m. on March 13, 2017.

Where:
Deputies responded to the fire at the AWS Carpenter Contractors manufacturing facility, 100 Dunbar Avenue in Oldsmar.

Why/How:
According to investigators, deputies initially responded to the location due to a security alarm at the location. Upon arrival, deputies observed fire and smoke coming from the rear of the AWS Carpenter Contractors manufacturing facility and immediately notified the fire department. The manufacturing facility is approximately 13,000 square feet. There were no persons in the manufacturing facility at the time of the fire.

Oldsmar Fire personnel and neighboring fire departments responded.

Detectives assigned to the Sheriff's Arson and Auto Theft Unit responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
