Where:

How/Why:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) investigate a single motorcycle crash in Seminole.

According to investigators, 73-year-old Norman White Jr. was driving his 2015 Honda motorcycle southbound on Park Street, in the median lane approaching 62nd Street North. Construction on Park Street was forcing traffic ahead of White to merge from the curb lane to the median lane.

As White continued southbound through the intersection of 62nd Avenue North, traffic in front of him stopped and he slammed on his brakes causing him to lose control. White, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected off the motorcycle and struck his head on the roadway.

Paramedics responded and transported White to Bayfront Medical Center for what were originally believed to be life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.

Speed and impairment were not factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
