What:
The Pinellas County Domestic Violence Task Force will recognize honorees during the  Outstanding Achievement in Preventing Domestic Violence Award ceremony.

Where:
Gathering Place located at Empath Health, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard in Clearwater.

When:
The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. to noon.

How/Why:
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Pinellas County Domestic Violence Task Force (PCDVTF) would like to honor the hardworking individuals within the community for their contributions aimed at ending domestic violence and personifying peace in our community.

Honorees will receive the PCDVTF Outstanding Achievement in Preventing Domestic Violence Award for demonstrating a willingness to go above and beyond.

“This is an opportunity to highlight the unrecognized work being done by many members within the community aimed at eradicating domestic violence,” said Bobbie Hodson, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office victim advocate.

In 2014, 106,882 crimes of domestic violence were reported to Florida law enforcement agencies resulting in 64,460 arrests, according to the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

The PCDVTF Outstanding Achievement in Preventing Domestic Violence Award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the Gathering Place located at Empath Health,  5771 Roosevelt Boulevard in Clearwater.
