Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit have concluded that a man’s arrest for possession of child pornography was not related to his employment at a local children’s store.

The suspect was arrested on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his residence located at 4667 69^th Place North in Pinellas Park.

The suspect was employed at The Children’s Place in Tyrone Mall, located at 6901 22^nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit have concluded that a man’s arrest for possession of child pornography was not related to his employment at a local children’s store.

According to detectives, they conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of 24-year-old Reneir Atillo for 10 counts of possession of child pornography. During that investigation they received information that Atillo was an employee at The Children’s Place store in Tyrone Mall.

Detectives have since confirmed that there was no connection or nexus linking Atillo’s criminal activity to his place of employment at The Children’s Place.

Atillo is no longer an employee at the store.

The investigation continues.
