What:
Deputies are investigating a hit and run vehicle crash involving a stolen vehicle that struck a residence in Safety Harbor.

When:
The crash occurred at about 1:43 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

Where:
The crash occurred at a residence located at 445 Martin Luther King Jr. Street North in Safety Harbor.

Why/How:
According to deputies, a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Street North, attempting to turn northbound onto 5^th Avenue North when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a home located at 445 Martin Luther King Jr. Street North.

Deputies say that witnesses heard the impact of a vehicle crashing into the residence and saw three unidentified subjects fleeing from the location of the crash.  

When deputies arrived they located the resident, Danielle Weston, who was inside the home at the time of the crash and confirmed that she was not injured.

A K-9 deputy attempted to track the suspects who fled from the scene but they were unsuccessful.

Deputies identified the owner of the Chrysler PT Cruiser and determined that the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Clearwater. The vehicle was left unlocked with a spare key left inside the vehicle.

The investigation continues.
