Why/How:
Sixteen members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #900 recently participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegate’s training event and pistol competition. The event was held in Seminole County, Florida with the pistol competition hosted by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Shooting Range. The event took place on Friday, January 29, 2016 through Sunday, January 31, 2016.

Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training, which consisted of several different scenarios covering many law enforcement topics, including hazardous materials, active shooting, high risk traffic stops and crisis intervention techniques.

During the individual shooting competition Explorer Andrew Aponte won 1st place in the Tyro Division, Explorer Alissa Epperson won 2^nd place in the Sharpshooter Division and Explorer Major Spencer Shaw won 3^rd place in the Expert Division.  Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Lieutenant Max Dulski, Explorer Sergeant Chase Fails and Explorer Andrew Aponte participated in the Team Shooting Event and took 3^rd place overall.

We are very proud of the efforts of our members of Post 900 during this Delegate’s competition.  These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off!  Congratulations Explorer Post 900!
