What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

When:
The crash occurred just after midnight on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

Where:
The crash occurred on Blind Pass Road and 78th Avenue In St. Pete Beach.

Why/How:
According to investigators, the vehicle driven by 48-year-old David Adamson was traveling north on Blind Pass Road.

The pedestrian, identified as 47-year-old Michelle Marie Denney,  was crossing Blind Pass Road from west to east, when she was struck in the northbound curb lane by Adamson.

Denney was transported by ambulance to Palms of Pasadena Hospital where she was pronounced deceased at about 1:12 a.m..

Deputies say Denney was not using the crosswalk.

Investigators say alcohol on the part of the pedestrian may be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
