Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit have arrested a shoplifting suspect who stole from a St. Petersburg Walmart store. 

When: 
The suspect was arrested on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at approximately 1:30 p.m. The theft occurred on Monday, January 12, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at a family member's residence located at 1100 Oakview Avenue in Clearwater. The theft occurred at the Walmart store located at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg.

How/Why:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit have arrested a shoplifting suspect who stole from a St. Petersburg Walmart store.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the Walmart store located at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg, on Monday, January 12, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Once inside the store, the suspect selected two children’s electric cars, placed them inside shopping carts and proceeded to exit the store.

Through various investigative techniques, the suspect was identified as 28-year-old Ryan M. Andrews.

Detectives located Andrews at a family member's residence on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Andrews was arrested and charged with one count of felony retail theft and one count resisting merchant.

Andrews was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

The investigation continues.
