What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office “Ride & Run With The Stars” will kick off its 21st year supporting area families in need. The event was initiated and coordinated by members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Proceeds from the “Ride” benefit the Sheriff’s Christmas Sharing Project, which provides food, clothing and toys to families who need assistance over the holidays. 

When:
“Ride and Run With The Stars” is set for Saturday, December 6, 2014. The events begin at 8:00 a.m. and registration will be open at 7:00 a.m. 

Where:
“Ride and Run With The Stars” takes place at Fort DeSoto Park in south Pinellas County – near Tierra Verde and just off the Pinellas Bayway.

Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office “Ride & Run With The Stars” will kick off its 21st year supporting area families in need. Throughout the years the Pinellas County Sheriff’s “Ride & Run With The Stars” holiday fundraiser has raised over $500,000 in donations to assist families, children and crime victims through the holidays.

The “Ride” offers cycling, running and walking events, including a certified 5k road race, at Ft. DeSoto Park. There is also a silent auction, a climbing wall, food, giveaways, children’s’ crafts, Sheriff’s Office displays and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The “Ride & Run With The Stars” event  is Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Fort DeSoto Park in south Pinellas County. All activities will be staged from the Fort picnic area. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. with events beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration is $35 and participants receive a long-sleeved t-shirt and race-bag giveaways. Kids accompanied by registered adults are free!

Proceeds from the event benefit the Sheriff’s Christmas Sharing Project. Sheriff’s Office members will shop for the items on wish lists submitted by approved applicants.
