The vehicle vs. pedestrian crash took place on Park Street just south of 54th Avenue North at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013.

According to deputies, the 2003 F-150 was traveling southbound on Park Street just south of 54th Avenue North when the pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old Leo R. Carey Jr., walked out from behind a tree line on the west side of Park Street into the direct path of the F-150 and was struck by the F-150. Carey was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
