Currently, the Sheriff’s Office is custodian of over 140,000 items of property.  Much of the property was seized by deputies or police officers as evidence for trial and will not be authorized for release to the owner until the criminal prosecution is concluded.  Other property is received as lost or safekeeping and it can be claimed by the owner.

Held for 90 days

Inmate Safekeeping Property:
Held for 30 days

Safekeeping Firearms (related to Domestic Violence Injunctions):
Held for 6 months

Evidence is not released until authorized by seizing officer.
