Deputies with the Sheriff’s Patrol Operations Bureau are the most visible representatives of the Sheriff’s Office in Pinellas County. The green and white cruisers are on patrol throughout the unincorporated area and in 12 cities under contract with the Sheriff’s office for law enforcement services.

Patrol Operations

Among the many patrol functions include community policing, traffic enforcement, DUI  investigation, School Resource Officers, Community Services, Crime Prevention and the Communications Section. The Sheriff’s Marine Unit, Flight Section, K-9 teams and Environmental Lands Unit also provide services countywide and assist other law enforcement agencies.

Patrol also offers Off-Duty Detail opportunities for community event organizers requiring traffic assistance or additional security.
