Business Watch

Work with deputy sheriffs to keep your business secure for employees and customers alike.

What is Business Watch?

The Business Watch Program is a unique no cost program, designed to enhance community security through heightened awareness and open communication between law enforcement and business owners. Business Watch can reduce crimes in commercial areas such as shoplifting, retail theft, burglaries, purse snatching, drug dealing and criminal mischief. The program builds relationships among businesses within a particular geographical area. Watching out for each other and maintaining a safe shopping and working environment is a benefit of your participation in the Business Watch Program.

Nationally businesses are robbed ten times more often than individuals. Businesses experience more night time burglaries than homes and are the sole target of shoplifters.

When To Call

In Florida, simply dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency connects you to EMS, law enforcement, and the fire rescue.

The 9-1-1 system is for emergencies only – serious vehicle crashes, critical medical situations, crimes in progress, or fire.

Do not call 9-1-1 for non emergency transportation.

If you are unsure if your situation is a true emergency, officials recommend that you let the call taker determine if you need emergency help.
