Investigative Operations

Homicides, crimes against children, robbery, arson, auto theft, fraud, exploitation and burglary are among the many categories of crime investigated by detectives with the Investigative Operations Bureau.

Pinellas Sheriff’s narcotics detectives have also formed partnerships with other state and federal agencies to shut down pill mill operations in Pinellas County and to investigate the manufacture, sale and smuggling of illegal drugs.

The Intelligence Section tracks criminal behavior, street gang activity and other crime trends.

The Burglary and Pawn division follows up on property crimes.

Detectives with the Economic crimes Unit unravel all manner of complex identity theft, fraud and embezzlement cases.

Victim Advocates work with crime victims of all ages by offering information and assistance to those victims as their case travels through the criminal justice system.
