What:  The Sheriff’s M.A.I.T. Team is investigating a three car crash in South Pasadena. As a result of the crash, four people were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

Where:  The crash occurred at 985 Pasadena Avenue South (intersection of Hibiscus Avenue).

When:  The crash occurred just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

According to investigators, the Nissan Altima driven by 76-year-old Jeanne Cinotti was northbound on Pasadena Avenue making a left hand turn onto Hibiscus Avenue.

Deputies say Cinotti turned left in front of the Ford Explorer driven by 42-year-old Wesley Middleton which was heading south on Pasadena Avenue.

Middleton’s Explorer struck the Nissan Altima causing it to strike the Ford Expedition driven by 41-year-old Elena Pleskov which was stopped at a stop sign facing east on Hibiscus Avenue.

Cinotti and her passenger 88-year-old Michael Cinotti were transported by ambulance to Bayfront Medical for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Middleton was transported by ambulance to Palms of Pasadena for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 44-year-old Joel Sanchez was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with what initially were thought to be life-threatening injuries. His injuries, however were non life- threatening.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Expedition were uninjured.

Speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

One lane of southbound Pasadena; and Hibiscus Avenue at Pasadena Avenue South were closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

The investigation continues.
