What: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing Dunedin man who wandered away from an assisted living facility on Saturday, October 29, 2011. (Update: He has been located safe and returned to the facility)

When: He was reported missing Sunday, October 30, 2011.
He was located Tuesday November 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

How/Why:
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Robbery / Homicide unit detectives have reported Dyer was located by Officers with the Cleawater Police Department on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the 2000 Block of Drew Street. Once his identity was verified he was returned to the facility.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Robbery / Homicide unit detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Dunedin man. On Sunday October 30, 2011 deputies received a report from the Dunedin Assisted Living Facility that Leo Cecil Dyer wandered away on Saturday October 29, 2011 and had not returned.

Detectives were told Dyer has wandered away from the facility before and been known to walk great distances throughout Pinellas County, but he normally returns on his own. Dyer has dementia and as of today he has still not returned.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Robbery / Homicide Detective James Beining at 727-582-6200, or if you see Dyer contact law enforcement immediately.
