The victims are now adult women, however they were between the ages of 6 and 10 when the offenses occurred. Per Florida State Statute 119 no further information about the victims can be released.
What: Detectives have arrested an Oldsmar man responsible for the sexual battery of two women who were children when the offenses were committed.
Where: The offenses occurred at Ice’s previous residence at 12375 82nd Avenue North in unincorporated Seminole, FL. Ice was arrested at his current residence 644 Timber Bay Circle West in Oldsmar, FL.
When: One victim was sexually battered between 1994–1996, and the second victim was sexually battered between 2001–2005. Benjamin Ice was arrested on Friday, October 21, 2011.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Crimes Against Children Unit detectives arrested an Oldsmar man for two counts of Sexual Battery On A Child Under 12 on Friday, October 21, 2011 after a week long investigation. The investigation began when the two victims, now adults, came forward to report the abuse that occurred when they were small children.
The two women reported to detectives Benjamin Ice had sexually battered them repeatedly over a period between 1994-1996, and 2001-2005, at his previous residence in unincorporated Seminole. At the time this occurred the women were children between the ages of 6 and 10. During their investigation detectives were able to develop probable cause to arrest Ice on Friday, October 21, 2011 at his current residence in Oldsmar.
Detectives cannot release the details surrounding the crimes as it may tend to identify the victims who are known to Ice. However, detectives believe that based their investigation, there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.
